In an act of solidarity and fraternity, National Petroleum Sierra Leone has taken the initiative to reach out to Guinea following last Sunday's tragic explosion and fire at the Guinean state's main oil facility. As part of their commitment to provide 5,000 tonnes of petroleum products to help Guinea in this time of crisis, the company has also launched a heart-warming program for the truck drivers and their assistants who play such a vital role in the business.
Aware of the difficult journey and the vital role played by these drivers, Sonoco Sierra Leone organized the distribution of food to over 300 tanker drivers and their assistants from Guinea. This thoughtful gesture included fresh bread, sardines, water and Salam juice.
The response from the drivers and their assistants has been extremely positive, with many thanks for the recognition and support given to their hard work and dedication in these difficult times.
As Guinea recovers from the consequences of the disaster, this gesture by Sonoco Sierra Leone and National Petroleum Sierra Leone remains a symbol of hope, reinforcing the spirit of unity and cooperation that characterizes the brotherhood between Guinea and Sierra Leone."
